I keep telling myself that I'm going to give up XXX until after I've defended for my masters. It seems that I never stay true to my word. Of the many XXXs that I've claimed to give up until June 3rd have been cooking, blogging, going out to lunch, and exercising. Oh wait, I think that I've made good on my promise not to exercise for 2 months. ;)
The other day I made nutella. Later that evening, i realized that I don't really eat nutella all that often so I decided to make cookies with it. Basically I made peanutbutter cookies - peanutbutter + nutella.
Nutella cookies (adapted from the peanutbutter cookies from Baked)
1 3/4 c AP Flour
2 tsp baking soda
1T powdered sugar
1T cocoa powder
1 tsp salt
2 sticks unsalted butter, softened
1 c granulated sugar
1 c firmly packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 c nutella
3/4 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/4 c or so of demerara sugar
whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, powdered sugar, and cocoa powder in a large bowl. Set aside. In a separate bowl, cream butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar. Mix in eggs and then the nutella. Add in the flour mix a bit at a time until it's all incorporated. Add in the chocolate chips and then cover and refrigerate for 3ish hours. After 3 hours, preheat the oven to 375 F. Take rounded tablespoons of the dough and press down gently with your hand to make a very thick disk. Sprinkle the tops of the cookies with the demerara sugar. Bake for 10-12 minutes, rotating the pan half way from top to bottom and front to back.

Did you use a fork to make the requisite hash marks on top?
I also like how Master's prep is Grad Student Lent. :-P
